We get several emails a day from people asking what the rakeback definition is. So we thought it would be a good idea to help explain the definition of rakeback. When you play a hand of poker the poker site will take a percentage of the total pot as their fee for hosting the game, this is called the rake. Take a look at the image below for an example of rake being taken from the pot. As you can see the 3 25c chips at the top; that is the rake.

Now let’s explain what rakeback really means. As a registered member of RakeBackCodes you will sign up for a poker site using one of our affiliate links. Since you used our affiliate links your new account will be linked to ours. Now since you’re linked to our account we can then provide you with rakeback.

When you play a raked hand of poker all players will contribute to the pot. The total rake is then divided by the number of players at the poker table and then each player earns their share of the rake. We give you a piece of that amount back in the form of rakeback. There are currently 3 different ways to calculate rakeback. Poker sites will either use the dealt, weighted contributed, average contributed rake method. Each method will change the amount of rakeback that you earn in a given time frame.

We have just been informed by Full Tilt Poker that they have changed the way that they calculate rake. We are pleased to announce that Full Tilt Poker is now calculating rake on the Weight Contributed method. The Weight Contributed method is essentially the industry standard and almost all poker sites calculate rake this way. We are very pleased that Full Tilt Poker has finally changed to this fair calculation. All rakeback players will now earn a fair share of rake and rakeback each month based off of the actual play. Previously Full Tilt Poker was using the Dealt rake method and that method encouraged a player to just fold. This new method encourages players to play because Weight contributed is based off of the actual amount of rake that you contribute to the pot.

We also are pleased to announce that Full Tilt Poker has changed the way that Player Points are earned. Now every table for each poker hand will be given 10 Full Tilt Poker Points and those 10 points will be equally contributed to each player that is dealt a hand. You can also now earn Full Tilt Poker Points on all cash games, multi-table tournaments & sit and go’s that take a fee. Please remember that when you use your player points it will be deducted from your rake figure which in turn will be deducted from your rakeback.
